International School – High School Program in Madrid

High School boys and girls with their certificates
Last week, as part of the Spanish for groups programs, AIL Madrid received a group of 18 boys and girls from the Children’s International School Lagos, a high school in Nigeria. The group of students were of ages ranging from 11 to 14 and accompanied by 3 teachers.

Divided into age groups, they completed a week of intensive Spanish programs of different levels, from beginner to higher intermediate.

As well as their Spanish classes, the boys and girls all enjoyed a week in Madrid, taking part in organised cultural activities like a visit to the stadium of Real Madrid, the Santiago Bernabéu, a guided trip to Alcalá de Henares, led by AIL teacher Paloma García, a walk down Gran Vía, and a workshop about the Spanish playwright Federico García Lorca.

In addition, AIL Madrid booked them meals at several typical Spanish restaurants, so that they could get a taste for Spanish gastronomy, and on the Friday, they wrapped up their stay with a dazzling Flamenco show.

The high school students had a fantastic time here during their short stay and were extremely happy, presenting the school manager Maya with a beautiful boquet of flowers on their last day, and they made sure to get the contact details of all the Spanish teachers.

It was the first time that AIL Madrid has hosted students from a Nigerian high school, and it has been an absolute pleasure – our door is always open and we would welcome you back with open arms!

  1. What a great scheme. And it sounds like they had a great time learning Spanish in Madrid!
