Acquire Spanish Citizenship with the CCSE Exam!


Are you interested in obtaining a Spanish citizenship but aren't sure how to go about it?

Starting on the 15th of October, 2015, the Spanish government will introduce the “Law 19/2015”, which offers new ways to acquire Spanish nationality. As a result of this law, those who apply for Spanish nationality have to pass a new exam, designed and administrated by the Instituto Cervantes: the certificate of Conocimientos Constitucionales y Socioculturales de España (The Understanding of the Spanish Constitution and, Society and Culture), or CCSE.

AIL Madrid is proud to be part of this new wave by offering CCSE preparatory courses to help applicants achieve their best on the exam and successfully acquire their citizenship! So let's learn a little more about the exam itself:


What is the CCSE exam?

CCSE examThe CCSE is a general exam on Spain’s constitution, history, and society that is made up of 25 multiple choice or true/false questions. The candidates have up to 45 minutes to complete the exam.


When are the CCSE exams?

The CCSE exams will take place on the last Thursday of every month, with the exception of August and December.


How much does the CCSE exam cost?

The enrollment fee for the CCSE exam in 2015 is €85. It’s the same price worldwide and the Instituto Cervantes will revise it annually, so we'll keep you updated!


How do I sign up for the CCSE exam?

It's easy: to take the CCSE exam you just need to enroll in one of the examination centers, such as AIL Madrid!

Finally, applicants who are not native Spanish speakers will also need to submit a DELE diploma of at least an A2 level. So let's get studying!
