San Isidro 2015 is here!

From 14th to 18th May, Madrid celebrates a rich cultural program, open to everyone (locals and visitors), that is one of the best times to enjoy Madrid! The “Feria de San Isidro” is a unique festival and an outstanding opportunity to enjoy a traditonal Spanish past time: bullfighting!

The festivities begin, as per tradition, after the opening speech in the Plaza de la Villa on 14th May, and will end with fireworks in the Pradera de San Isidro the night of May 18th.

Some of Madrid's most popular landmarks, such as Plaza Mayor and Vistillas Pradera de San Isidro, will serve as stages of big events like the parade of the Giants and “Big-headed puppets” and classical concerts by world renowned Spanish artists.

Meanwhile, Retiro Park will be home to nightly fireworks displays over the lake, accompanied by classic music and light displays. So grab your friends and a blanket, pack a picnic basket and make an evening of it!

Finally, bullfights will be held in Ventas almost everyday so, if you're feeling gutsy, head on over and see what all the fuss is about!

On the evening of the 18th, the fireworks will bid farewell to one of the most famous and charismatic festivities of Spain, but don't worry: they'll be back again next year!

For all the staff, professors and students here at AIL, Madrid is more than just a city: it’s a friend, a lifestyle, a fiesta, and a home. So from all of us to all of you, happy San Isidro2015!!!
